Meriel Lowe

Ever since she was a toddler, Meriel knew she wanted to work on ships. She turned that childhood ambition into a career, spending 15 years at sea in a variety of roles including Travel Manager, Social Hostess, Destination Speaker, Entertainment Coordinator, Assistant Cruise Director and more, sailing with Cunard, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and several other pioneering cruise lines.

Her time at sea took her around the world on in-depth itineraries, visiting 104 countries and giving her first-hand insight into the destinations, ships and experiences that make exploration-led cruising so rewarding. She’s always been fascinated by ships, but her passion has always been for smaller vessels that offer genuine discovery rather than the largest ships at sea.

After life on board, Meriel spent eight years working freelance as a Tour Leader, Destination Speaker and Travel Manager across ocean cruises, river voyages and land tours. She also created shore excursion programmes for Cruise & Maritime Voyages and Travelsphere, giving her another perspective on what makes a journey truly memorable.

Since 2015, she’s been helping clients plan luxury holidays and specialist cruises, drawing on decades of personal experience to recommend the right voyage for each traveller. She is also a CLIA Cruise Master, reflecting her extensive industry knowledge and commitment to cruise expertise.

Away from work, you’ll usually find Meriel out walking with her dog and making the most of the countryside.
