Financial Protection
Package Holidays are sold by Polar Routes and all holiday packages which include an air element are ATOL protected. ATOL protects you from losing your money or being stranded abroad. It does this by carrying out checks on the tour operators and travel organisers it licenses, and requiring them to take part in a financial guarantee scheme managed by the Air Travel Trust (ATT) which provides the funds to protect customers should a firm fail. In some cases a licence holder will also provide a bond, which is lodged with the ATT and provides additional funds.
All the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. Please see our booking conditions for further information or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.atol.org.uk/ATOLCertificate
If a tour operator goes out of business, the CAA will ensure you do not lose the money you paid over, or if you’re abroad, we’ll arrange for you to finish your holiday and fly home. Our ATOL licence number is 11104 and you can verify our licence and learn more about ATOL by clicking here.
Bookings made on or before 31 December 2025 remain with Polar Routes; packages which include an air element are 100% financially protected by ATOL.
Bookings made from 1 January 2026 onwards are with Travel Network Group (membership X0333), and also carry 100% financial protection and ATOL protection where applicable. Polar Routes is a member of The Travel Network Group and acts as an agent for ATOL-protected tour operators and other principal suppliers. Financial protection for flights and flight-inclusive holidays will be provided by the relevant ATOL holder.
