Founded in 1991 by Greg and Margaret Mortimer, the company takes its name from Sir Douglas Mawson’s ship, Aurora. From the very beginning, the focus has been on immersive, personal expeditions – journeys that don’t just show you a place, but help you understand it, and why it matters. More than 30 years on, that approach hasn’t changed. Their small, purpose-built ships allow for a different pace of travel – adapting to ice, weather and tides as they unfold.
