National Geographic Sea Lion

National Geographic Sea Lion is one of the original expedition ships in the Lindblad fleet – a vessel shaped by decades of exploration and still perfectly suited to the regions she sails today. With her small size and shallow draft, she’s able to reach places larger ships simply can’t. Narrow channels where whales gather to feed, hidden coves edged by waterfalls, and protected bays ideal for kayaking and snorkelling all become part of the journey. It’s this ability to move freely through complex coastlines that defines the experience on board. Sailing along the west coast of North America and into Central America, she follows routes where wildlife, landscape and local life are closely connected. Days are spent out exploring – by Zodiac, on foot, or quietly observing from the deck – with the flexibility to adapt to what each destination offers. There’s a long heritage behind the ship, but what stands out is how relevant she remains. Intimate in scale, practical in design, and focused entirely on access, she offers a way of travelling that feels close to the places you’ve come to see — and to the stories that shape them.
