What destinations did you visit?
Antarctica and Chile.

How did you get there?
I was lucky enough to travel on the Fly Bridge tour, flying from Punta Arenas to King George Island before embarking on my Antarctic expedition cruise with Silversea. The return was a little more adventurous than planned—thick fog prevented our flight back, so the Captain sailed us across the legendary Drake Passage instead.

First time or reapeat trip?
This was my very first time visiting both Antarctica and Chile, and it exceeded all my expectations.
Favourite location?
Without hesitation: the Iceberg Graveyard at Pléneau Bay. Exploring by Zodiac was incredible, and kayaking at Petermann Island was the perfect way to experience the icy landscapes up close.

Most memorable moment?
It’s hard to choose just one, but several moments stand out – first setting foot on the peninsula in Orne Harbour, sailing through the Lemaire Channel and then Zodiac cruising through the Iceberg graveyard. I took a dip in the Antarctic waters, completing my second Polar Plunge.
Best holiday excursion/experience?
I absolutely loved every part of the expedition outings and was very fortunate to be able to kayak at Petermann Island – this was included as part of every Antarctic voyage on the Silver Endeavour.

What do you most recommend packing or prepping for?
I recommend taking each day as it comes and keeping an open mind when expedition cruising. There will be any plans during the day and they are ever changing – embrace everything for what it is.

Favourite food and drink on trip?
The Silver Endeavour has four signature restaurants, a café and in room dining on board as well. I especially loved the Rib eye steak, topped with Lobster on many occasions. I also enjoyed the La Dame restaurant, which is Silver Endeavours Upscale French speciality restaurant, where you can enjoy a 6-course tasting menu, with a wine pairing. Silver Endeavour had a team of very experienced sommeliers on board, which was very appreciated amongst many of the guests and is just one of the many areas that puts Silversea Expeditions into the Ultra Luxury cruise category.

Kasey began specialising in expedition cruising in 2017, with a particular focus on the polar regions. While those landscapes remain a favourite, her experience now spans a wider range of exploration-led journeys, always with the same emphasis on depth, pace and perspective.
She understands that many of these trips begin as ideas that sit in the background for a long time. Her role is to help shape those ideas into something real, offering clear advice and thoughtful recommendations along the way.
